This section is part of the Bibliocraft & Add-ons mod by Nuchaz.
The Bookcase is a functional furniture item added from the Bibliocraft & Add-ons mod. Unlike Bookshelves in vanilla Minecraft, Bookcases are empty when crafted, and can be filled with Books, either normal or Enchanted from the GUI. This means that in addition to being a wonderful decoration for a Minecraft room, Bookcases also serve as a useful place to store extra books.
In addition to right-clicking with a non-book item on a Bookcase to open the GUI, books can also be placed directly into the Bookcase by right-clicking while holding the Book you intend to store.
Bookcases can be crafted out of any type of wood, including wood from other mods supported by the Bibliowoods add-on. This does not impact the function in any way, but does change the visual appearance of the Bookcase, allowing greater customization.
Compatibility with Enchantment TablesEdit
Bookcases do work with Enchantment Tables, and the amount of levels granted is dependent on the number of Books counted within the Bookcase. 8 Books is the equivalent of 1 vanilla Bookshelves in terms of impact on Enchantment Tables. A Bookcase can hold up to 16 Books.
